In 2012, Dmitri Doubrovski, a good friend of mine, asked me to contribute music for "Broken Souls" (or "Svage Sjæle" in my native Danish) - a short film he had been working on for some time. Originally attached to the project as song writer for a potential end credits song - an idea that was later abandoned - I accepted the proposition without hesitation.

Its short running time packed with interesting symbolism and cinematography closer to old school horror than what is usually achieved through simple digital video, "Broken Souls" is anything but a typical Danish short film. Realising that fairly early on, I wanted my contributions to reflect that. Eschewing the glitchy electronica that I feel is dominating the short film landscape, I instead turned to Tangerine Dream, Goblin, John Carpenter and Philip Glass to try to create something befitting the justifiably lofty ambitions of Dmitri's film itself.

It is up to you to judge if I succeeded.
